Pending Jobs: Confirming Tomorrow's Grooming Visits the Day Before
Most mobile groomers already have a nightly routine: finish the last groom, clean the van, and look at tomorrow. Pending Jobs is built around that routine. It is the place where tomorrow's repeat visits are already waiting with their planned time and van, so looking at tomorrow turns into confirming tomorrow.
What Pending Jobs Holds
Building a day around a few fixed times is covered in Fitting a Grooming Route Around Fixed Appointment Times. Pending Jobs is where that building usually happens.
When you book a client with Add Recurring Grooming, every visit in their schedule is written up front with its planned day, time and van. Those visits do not go straight onto the Scheduled list. They wait on Pending Jobs until the office confirms them. New requests wait there too, including the ones that do not have a day yet.
Pending Jobs shows all of this two ways at once: a map with a pin for each visit, and a list beside it. Day tabs across the top start with tomorrow.
Why Confirm the Day Before?
Writing visits up front but confirming them the day before gives you the best of both. The repeat client's slot is held for months ahead, so nobody else gets booked into it. But nothing hits the confirmed schedule until you have looked at it with fresh information:
- A client texted last week to say they will be away.
- A groomer is out tomorrow and their van's visits need sharing out.
- The forecast for tomorrow is bad and the outdoor-hookup stops need thought.
- A new request is near one of tomorrow's stops and could fit in.
Confirming the day before is a short, regular check that catches those things while they are still easy to fix.
One-Click Confirm
On a normal day, nothing has changed. Open the tomorrow tab, look over the list and the map, and confirm. One click keeps each visit's planned day, time and van, and the visits move to the Scheduled list for tomorrow.
If one client needs a different time, change that visit before you confirm. If one visit should move to another day, move it, and it shows on that day's tab instead. Everything else confirms as planned.
Reading the Map Before You Confirm
The map is the reason Pending Jobs is more than a to-do list. Before you confirm, a glance at tomorrow's pins shows whether the day is tight or scattered. If one van has six pins on the north side and one pin across the river, that lonely pin is worth a second look. Maybe it fits better on a different van that is already nearby, or on a different day.
The map also shows new requests alongside the planned visits. A new request two streets from a confirmed visit is an easy add. One far from everything might wait for a day when a van is already out that way.
After Confirming: Route the Day
Once tomorrow is confirmed, the visits are on the Scheduled list, where you filter by van and route each van's day, by auto-route or by hand. That is also when the night-before reminders start to matter: pet owners who chose that alert get one, with the time of their visit.
The whole loop — open the tomorrow tab, confirm, place new requests, route each van — takes a few minutes on a normal day. That is time most owners were already spending with a paper planner and a map app, now in one place.
If you run more than one van, the same routine applies to each one. Confirm the whole tomorrow tab once, then route the vans one at a time. Because every visit kept its planned van, each groomer's list is already sorted into the right van before you start ordering stops, and the groomer's phone shows the finished order as soon as it is set.
Changing a Repeat Schedule Going Forward
Pending Jobs is for one-off changes to a single visit. If a client wants a permanent change — a new weekday, a new time, a different van, a new price — make it on the Recurring Clients list, which changes all their upcoming visits at once. You can also extend a schedule or stop it there. That way Pending Jobs always shows the client's current plan, not an old one you have to fix every time.
Next in this section is the tab for brand-new customers: The No Day Tab: Where New Grooming Requests Wait for a Slot. Repeat schedules themselves are covered in Repeat Grooming Appointments on the Schedule: Every 4, 6 or 8 Weeks in a Fixed Slot. For the whole scheduling picture, see the mobile grooming scheduling software page.
