The 14-Day Free Trial: Setting Up Pet Grooming Software Before You Pay
A free trial is only useful if you use it. Plenty of people sign up, click around for ten minutes, and let the trial run out without ever running a real day. For a mobile groomer, the best trial is one where your real clients, your real pets and your real week go through the software before you pay anything.
After Pricing, the Trial
Pet Grooming Software Pricing: What $59, $89 and $199 a Month Get a Mobile Groomer covered what each plan costs. The trial is how you find out whether it is worth it for your business.
The Basics
PetGroomBossPro's free trial lasts 14 days and needs no credit card. Sign up at my.petgroombosspro.com and you are in. If you want to look first without signing up at all, the live demo is a fully stocked sample company you can click around in; that is covered in The Live Demo: Clicking Around a Sample Mobile Pet Grooming Company.
Days 1–2: Your Services and Prices
Start with the things every job depends on. Build your service list: full groom, bath and brush, puppy intro groom, cat groom, nail trim, whatever you sell. Add your add-ons with their prices. If you want to try the Book Now page, set your base prices per service, the add-on per size, your minimum and any frequency discounts.
Add your van or vans, and add yourself and any employees with a PIN.
Days 2–4: Your Clients
If your client list is in a spreadsheet, use CSV import; imported addresses are placed on the map automatically. If not, type in the clients coming up in the next two weeks. That is enough to run real days during the trial.
For each of those clients, add their pets with name, dog or cat, breed, size, coat, rabies due date and cut notes, and add van notes for the home.
Days 4–5: Book Your Regulars
Go through your regulars and book each one with Add Recurring Grooming on their usual weekday, time, van and frequency. Watch the visits appear on Pending Jobs. This is usually the moment groomers realize how much of their calendar will now take care of itself.
Days 5–10: Run Real Days
The day before each workday, open Pending Jobs and confirm tomorrow. In the morning, open the groomer app on your phone, sign in with the company login and your PIN, and run the day: navigation, Start, checklist, photos, Complete. Turn on the customer alerts so your clients get the night-before and arrived texts.
Try collecting a card on file from a few clients and let Complete charge them. Ask one or two friendly regulars to open the customer app and look at the live map on their grooming day. Their reaction will tell you a lot.
Days 10–12: Try the New-Client Side
Put your Book Now link on your website or social bio and see what comes into Leads. Send an estimate to a multi-pet home. Convert a request into a booked client. This tests the part of the software that brings in new business, not just the part that runs existing clients.
Days 12–14: Decide
By now you have run real days, real payments and real bookings. Ask yourself a few simple questions. Did the day run more smoothly on the phone? Did the reminders cut down on empty driveways or “are you still coming?” texts? Did invoices get paid faster? Did you spend less time in the evening on paperwork?
If the answers are yes, pick the plan that fits: Start at $59, Pro at $89 or Crew at $199 a month.
Tips for a Good Trial
- Use real clients. Sample data does not tell you how your own week will feel.
- Do not try to enter everything on day one. Upcoming clients first, the rest as they come due.
- Run at least a few full days on the groomer app, not just a single appointment.
- Involve your team if you have one, so the groomers and bathers who will use it every day get to try it.
Tell a Few Clients What Is Changing
Your regulars will notice new texts and a new app link. A quick message to the clients you are putting through the trial goes a long way: you are trying a new system, they will get a reminder the night before and a text when you arrive, and they can open the customer app to see the van. Most owners are glad to get the heads-up.
Nothing to Lose but Two Weeks of Paperwork
With no card required, the trial costs nothing but the time you put into it, and the setup you do carries straight on when you pick a plan. For every guide in this series, go back to the pet grooming software page.
