The Time Clock in the Groomer App

The moment a grooming business hires its first employee, hours become a weekly question. When did the bather start Tuesday? Did the groomer take lunch on Wednesday or groom straight through? The usual answer is a guess written on a notepad on Friday afternoon. A time clock on the same phone the groomer already uses replaces the guess with a record.

Clock In on the Same App

After Charging the Card on File When the Groomer Taps Complete, the groomer's day is mostly covered: the appointments, the pets, the checklist, the photos, the texts and the payment. The time clock sits in the same app.

The groomer or bather signs in with the company login and their own PIN, then clocks in. At the end of the day, they clock out. There is no separate time-tracking app to install and no punch card on the van wall.

Why the PIN Matters for Hours

Clock-ins belong to the person who signed in, not to the phone and not to the van. That matters in a mobile grooming business, where:

In each case, each person clocks in with their own PIN, and their hours are their own. Login and PINs are covered in Logging In to the Groomer App: Company Login Plus a Personal PIN.

Hours Recorded as They Happen

The big benefit of a phone time clock is timing. Hours are recorded when they happen, not reconstructed days later. That helps everyone:

When there is a question about a day, the clock-ins are there, next to the appointments that person started and completed.

Clock-Ins Next to the Day's Work

Because the time clock is in the same app as the appointments, the office can see the hours alongside the work. A groomer who clocked in at 7:45, started the first appointment at 8:30 and completed the last at 4:15 has a day that makes sense. When the numbers look odd, the office can see why: a long drive between stops, a matted dog that took extra time, or a forgotten clock-out.

That is not about watching people. It is about having the facts when planning the next week. If one van's day keeps running long, maybe it has too many doodles on it, and the office can move a few appointments.

A Simple Routine

The time clock only works if people use it. A routine that sticks:

What counts as paid time (driving, van cleaning, setup) is your business's policy. The app just records when people clocked in and out.

Groomers, Bathers and Owners

Not everyone needs the time clock. An owner-operator grooming alone may never use it. A business with one groomer and one bather will use it every day. A business paying groomers on commission might still want clock-ins for scheduling and planning.

The groomer-and-bather setup is common enough that it gets its own article: A Groomer and a Bather in One Van: Sharing the Day on the Groomer App.

For owners, the time clock also helps when planning. Knowing how long a van's day really runs, from clock-in to clock-out, makes it easier to decide whether there is room for another regular on that van or whether it is time to hire a bather. Those decisions are easier to make from real hours than from a feeling that everyone is busy.

Off the Notepad

The time clock is one of the less exciting features in the groomer app, but it ends a weekly headache. Hours are recorded on the same phone, under the same PIN, in the same app as the work. To see how the time clock fits with everything else, visit the PetGroomBossPro dog grooming app page.

Hours Recorded as They Happen

PetGroomBossPro's groomer app includes a time clock, so groomers and bathers clock in and out on the same phone under their own PIN.
